Demons Play
02:38
|
|||
My band of brothers is greater in number
Than the gang of forty thieves.
This will always be cool but never be special, it’s just the nature of the business.
I've pondered long and hard where I went wrong, now I know.
What's one more wound to a soul that’s fallen ill?
With every attachment leaves another piece of myself that I will never retrieve.
Hammered to bits upon the altar of an institution in which I don't believe.
I've buried all the debris with the bodies
Of the warnings that I could not heed.
The soil's tainted, time was wasted.
The hollow void manifests itself through me.
So let me be bonded by blood to the promise that was made but could not follow through.
Let me be engulfed in the flames of the burning envy.
For this wretched position is my reward for indulging
in pleasures of the flesh
A trifecta of my self-sacrifices have formed a ring around me. Lost love, false premise, the hollow void manifests itself through me.
So you think these demons play well together?
You only tell me what you want me to hear.
It’s like you think I can’t anticipate every wrong that can be done to a man.
I hate to break the news to you precious but the fruits you bear don’t strike me as sweet.
I've been down this road once or twice before and
The void you leave is the last thing that I need.

Isolation
02:01
|
|||
When I'm riddled with anxiety
I think of all that could've been, all that I'll never be.
I can only hope this time I will not push away
The only people in my world that keep me sane.
But sometimes isolation is all that I need
I prefer to be alone when my consciousness bleeds.
The weight that holds on the soul grows tiring.
And I've had it.
Omnipresent scenes reside, of the images I preserve inside.
I closed my eyes and turned around to once and for all, leave you all behind.
No matter what I try, this weight lingers but never leaves.
No matter what I try these scenes still reside, can I find no reprieve?

Animal

We’re not here to oppress
Or tread on anyone’s rights.
Curse me for my opinion
God forbid it isn’t right.
I give respect where it’s due
But I don’t hesitate to share my views
I’m alright with who I am, and the man that I am
Doesn’t answer to you.
So you think you’re gonna change the world?
Well I’ve got a bone to pick.
It’s difficult to elicit sympathy
When your audience realizes you’re full of shit.
I’m not saying that I’m never wrong
It’s happened before, it will happen again.
I don’t tell you your fucking business
Don’t expect me to fucking bend.
I’m not a mindless animal
Just because my beliefs don’t match yours.
I’m not a heartless calloused brute
Just because the world that I see is real.
We dealt with more in our youth than you will in your life
Let’s trade places for a day and you’ll see what it’s like.
We dealt with more in our youth than you will in your life
Let’s trade places for a day
And you’ll see what it’s like.
Every day is a living hell
All this work for a better tomorrow
I envy those who have never suffered
As I continue to battle my sorrow.
You’ve never lived this life,
You have no right to speak.
Can’t say shit to my face,
Your argument is weak.
For future reference,
See my benevolence.
I am what I am,
But my intentions are pure.
I’m not what you’ve accused me of…
That’s for sure.

American Swine
03:40
|
|||
The masses are seized
Society's programmed to waste and consume and to follow the lead.
Obedient to the magic screen that dictates your interests and determines your dreams.
Discontent is a foreign concept to narrow minds in a material world.
The greatest struggle is on its way
America's blind, but it's clear as day.
Say goodbye to the world as you know it.
Your future's in the hands of logic alone.
These filthy pigs lack any compassion.
You won't be rewarded for being their drone.
Too little, too late, is the situation
Your only strong suit is shifting the blame.
Planet earth is in an age of quarrel
Until the day I die, I will curse your name.
It'll be too late when you finally see
Misplaced faith will be the death of me.
Brainwashed to be a spending machine
I may be trapped, but my mind is free.
Do you ever stop and think
About your part in this mess?
I would wager not.

Martial Law
02:46
|
|||
We live in a day and age where the illusion of safety is preferred
To personal liberty.
Is this really western society?
Pupils are not taught to think, only to obey and submit.
To be desensitized and to not realize
The humanitarian agenda is a crock of shit.
If you don't raise your voice, who ever will?
How many will be taken under martial law, how many will be killed?
I will assert myself if it means being put to death.
When a nation forfeits its rights it has nothing left.
Our constitution has been rewritten, cancelling what made us free.
A chosen few hold all the keys, disgrace our nation with misanthropy.
If we don't raise our voice who ever will?
How many will be taken under martial law, how many will be killed?
It's unsettling to think, that so many are unaware.
Infuriating to know the majority don't care.
My generation's sad fixations are self-indulgence and entertainment.
That works out for the one percent; it's easy for them when we play their game.
To pull a veil on our eyes, to rob us blind.
They laugh all the way when we never saw it coming.
When democracy crashes, new order formed from the ashes,
Just a painful reminder that my voice wasn't enough.

Nightmares
00:51
|
|||
Today’s the day that your very worst nightmare
Becomes your conscious reality.
The day that what you’ve been running from gets you
This is the moment that you cease to breathe.
Every attempt at justification
Is a greater failure than the one we’ve become.
Bow your head in fucking shame,
I’ll show you pain with blatant disregard.

Groundhog Day
02:44
|
|||
Crippled from the point of conception.
Banished from the nursery before developing will.
Your voice was abruptly silenced... I've never felt so weak or powerless.
Stillborn in a pool of diseased blood,
The most ironic symbol of our undying love.
A new life begins in a saturated purgatory.
The same day repeats, the cycle never ends no matter how much you bleed.
Until the love that we promised you can run free,
Your suffering will forever envelop me.
